Hockey: Team USA vs Canada – Part 2

Congratulations to Canada for their hockey gold medal!

This was by far one of the most exciting games of the tournament. Canada led the whole way. It wasn’t until Zach Parise scored in the last twenty-five seconds of regulation time to tie it and send this thing into overtime.

Tightly contested, both teams had multiple chances to score throughout regulations. In fact, Canada hit the pipes twice in regulation they were that close to putting it away. Both Miller and Luongo put on quite the show between the pipes.

Overtime didn’t disappoint either. Again, both teams had opportunities, but it came down to a rebound shout from Sidney Crosby.

Though it was clear they were dejected after the loss I think Team USA will look back on this and see what a great accomplishment this really was. They were a team that was not expected to medal at the beginning of these Olympics. They were the youngest team in the tournament and exceeded expectations.
